SAP HANA on Google Cloud Platform

Before going to learn SAP Hana lets first understand the meaning of SAP and Hana and Why Google Cloud becoming boom to use.

What is SAP?

SAP stands for Systems Applications and Products in processing. SAP, by definition, is additionally the name of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software likewise because of the name of the corporate. SAP Software is a European multinational, founded in 1972 by Wellenreuther, Hopp, Hector, Plattner, and Tschira. They develop software solutions for managing business operations and customer relationships.

SAP system consists of a number of fully integrated modules, which cover virtually every aspect of business management.

SAP is #1 within the ERP market. As of 2010, SAP has more than 140,000 installations worldwide, over 25 industry-specific business solutions and over 75,000 customers in 120 countries

Other Competitive products of SAP Software within the market are Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.

HANA stands for High-performance Analytic Appliance.

SAP HANA is a tool that comprises an In-Memory HANA database, together with various components, data modeling tools, data provisioning, and HANA administration, which makes it a whole package or suite for a business development system and centralized ERP system.

SAP HANA uses real-time processing which gets the information directly from the in-memory thus speeding up the information retrieval operations.

SAP HANA offers a query-processing environment for both structured and unstructured data. during this way, you’ll use it in many alternative ways via SAP business warehouse, native applications, and accelerators.

Compute Engine VMs provide persistent disks, which function similarly to physical disks during a desktop or a server, but are automatically managed for you by Compute Engine to confirm data redundancy and optimized performance.

Some of the largest businesses run SAP Applications. Increasingly, customers are running mission-critical SAP applications on Google Cloud to require advantage of the platform’s secure, modern, and reliable global infrastructure likewise as its capabilities in AI, ML, and analytics.

While running SAP databases on Cloud Volumes Service for Google Cloud include:

  • Application consistent backups of HANA available API calls.
  • No must deploy and manage individual persistent disks for every HANA instance in an exceedingly single or multi-host deployment, leading to significantly lower management overhead.
